In Our Class This Week... LAST FULL WEEK!

I hope everyone had a great week. Fun events are coming up, information will be going home, or posted on our classroom window and of course here on the blog. Please check on a weekly basis for the most up to date information.

Dress code reminder:
REACH spirit shirt (only on FRIDAYS)
100 mile club shirt (only on FRIDAYS)
Student must have socks on at all times
      boys socks (solid-black or navy)
      girls socks (solids-white, black, navy)
Jackets (no logos or prints)
If students have free dress...
students are not allowed to wear shirts with thin straps (all shirts must have some sort of sleeve)
No open toed shoes
No heels
Shorts and dresses must be finger tip length

6/18:  STEAM EXPO
Time: 4:00-6:30
Classroom visitation hours (presentation by students)

Session 1: 4:15-5:00
Session 2: 5:15-6:00

6/18: City council meeting DATE CHANGED TO THE 22ND!
6/19: Donuts for dads


Last week of school

6/22: Game Day
Tk-1 course time 8:30-10:30
Need: 3 volunteers to lead group of students around course
Need: 4 parents to be in charge of our booth
2nd-4th course time 11:30-1:30

Lunch: 10:30-11:00 (picnic style)
 If you have a blanket we can use, please let me know

6/23: Kindergarten Field trip Aquarium of the Pacific
Permission slips and fee due ASAP

Student price: $5.00
Chaperone price: $20.00 (7 per Kinder class)

Chaperones must drive themselves to and from the trip
Any student who cannot afford to pay may still attend the field trip (SEE ME)
All students must ride to and from the field trip on the bus

SIBLINGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE FIELD TRIP
Students who are not attending the field trip are expected to be in class that day

Chaperones: PLEASE EMAIL ME WITH YOUR CELLPHONE NUMBER!
Rules set forth by the team and admin:

  1. While field trips are fun, it is still a school day. All school rules still apply.
  2. Students must arrive to school early on the day of their class’ scheduled field trip.
  3. Busses will leave as scheduled. Any late students will be left. No refunds will be given.
  4. Students to wear red REACH T- shirts so that they are easily identifiable. If they do not have a red REACH shirt, a plain red t-shirt will suffice.
  5. Chaperones and volunteers to wear REACH T-shirt (any color) as well.
  6. Students, teachers, volunteers, and chaperones represent REACH while participating in off-campus activities. They should be on their best behavior at ALL TIMES!
  7. THERE IS TO BE NO EATING ON THE BUS. STUDENTS MAY DRINK WATER ONLY. CHEWING GUM ON THE BUS IN NOT ALLOWED.
  8. STUDENTS NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE BACKPACKS ON THE BUSSES. THEY WILL BE LEFT UNDERNEATH THE BUS CARRIAGE/STORAGE COMPARTMENT.
  9. MAKE SURE BUSSES ARE AT THE SAME LEVEL OF CLEANLINESS WHEN YOU LEAVE (IF NOT BETTER) THAN WHEN YOU FOUND THEM.

6/24: Teacher vs. Students (mix of 3rd and 4th):
Time: 8:00am
Parents are welcome to attend!

Please have children wear sunscreen and bring a water bottle (we are expecting a warm day)
Students may bring money, snacks will be sold this day
If you have an EZ Up please bring it on this day!

6/24:End of the year party
Donations list is on our class door
THANK YOU TO THOSE THAT HAVE SIGNED UP!
Feel free to double up on any items or bring in anything else you may like (even if it is not on the board)

6/25: Last day of school (HALF day)
June awards assembly Tk-K @ 8am
KINDERGARTEN Graduation @ 11:30-12:15
Students are allowed to decorate their caps. If you are interested in doing this, please let me know!

Continue to use Mobymax at home whenever your child gets a chance. Every child's learning is individualized! This is a great, fun program for the kids to use to reinforce math and language arts skills.

    Last Day of School

    The June Awards Assembly will now be on the last day of school, June 25th at 8am in the sanctuary. At 11:30am Kindergarten Promotion will begin. Following the ceremony, students will return to the classroom and can be checked out from our room. 

    Students may wear leis and/or decorate their caps (caps provided by the PTO).

    What a fun, yet busy short week! I was beyond proud of my kiddos during their Spring Performance! Thank you to all those families that came out and supported REACH! Lots more fun events are coming up, information will be going home, or posted on our classroom window and of course here on the blog.     Good morning!

    I hope everyone is enjoying this long weekend in honor of Memorial Day. Our school year is coming to an end, but the learning and memorable moments continue. Lots of fun events are coming up, information will be going home, or posted on our classroom window and of course here on the blog.     Enter raffles, eat food and take photos with photographer
    Performance times
    Tk-1st @ 5:00pm
    2-4th @ 6:15
    Each family will be given 2 FREE tickets for the show
    Additional tickets may be purchased
    $5.00 for one show
    $7.00 for two shows
    Tickets went on sale May 18th and may be purchased in the office or from the after school program.

    Parent Survey

    In an effort to evaluate REACH’s 2014-2015 Local Control Accountability Plan, a survey was developed by a committee of the school’s administration, teachers and parents. The committee will also gather information from the teachers and second through fourth grade students in separate surveys. Individual responses will be anonymous, but overall results will be made public through an LCAP Committee Report by June 30, 2015.
