In Our Class This Week...2017!

Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed this time off with your family. Time to get back to our daily routines and finish off this school year! Be sure to check out our Shutterfly page for our latest classroom pictures. If you would like access, please email me for a special invite.

With a new year upon us, some of our classroom supplies have begun to run low. Donations of the following items would be greatly appreciated!

Paper towels
Disinfecting wipes (organic please)

Language Arts: Unit 3 Week 3: "George Washington Visits"

CVC reading test on FRIDAY
5 points-students reads CVC word without sounding out loud "cat
4 points-students sounds out word then reads whole word "c-a-t, cat"
3 points-student only says sounds for letters but not does blend word correctly or does not blend sounds at all "c-a-t" or "c-a-t cap"
2 points-student only says 2 letter sounds
1 point-student only says 1 letter sound


    Letter(s) of the week: D and K

    Letter D song-ABC mouse
    Home activities: Look for the letter D and K (in all kinds of fonts)
    Say words that begin with the /d/ and /k/ sound
    Draw pictures that begin with the /d/ and /k/ sound
    Sound  out CVC words (determine if real or silly)
    day, Dex, dip,dog, dut
    kat, kip, kit, kom, kug
    Make a list words with these endings
    -og, -ip,-en, -at, -um

    Weekly reading comprehension test: Every Friday (Based on the comprehension skill of the week)
    This week's focus:  Cause and Effect
    High Frequency Words (HFW-also known as Sight words : Same set of words last for two weeks. These words are meant to be read just by seeing them.

    Math: Unit 5-Shapes
    Unit 5: shapes TEST FRIDAY
    Identify similar solid shapes
    name shapes
    look for 3d shapes outside of the classroom

    Science: Chapter 3 Living and non-living things
    Students will be able to identify living and nonliving things.

    Social Studies: Unit 6 Lesson 2: Who are people in history?
    Students will know the triumphs in American legends and historical accounts through the stories of people

    "I like" sentences
    Writing test next week

      1. I genuinely like this is unequivocally goliath for everyone clearly for me. I had such innumerable issues about downloading videos from Facebook and YouTube and other social stages. Online Fb video downloader is an improvement through that all comes up short key and these are totally free which would all have the decision to use with pondering everything, no issue.
