Sound out blend CVC words (determine if real or silly)

Weekly reading comprehension test: Every Friday (Based on the comprehension skill of the week)
Song we review in class: Parts of a Story song
This week's focus: setting

High Frequency Words (HFW: Same set of words last for two weeks. These words are meant to be read just by "seeing" them)

Math: Unit 3 Numbers to 10 (lessons 3.10-3.14)

Students will be able to count to 10
Count items up to 10 (with one to one correspondence), write numbers to 10, build up to 10

Social Studies: Halloween Around the World
Students will be able to state facts about how Halloween is celebrated around the world.

WRITING TEST: FRIDAY
Write the letter that represent the first sound of the picture given (in the correct part of the house)

Review writing house and lines
Practice writing the letter that represent the first sound in words given

Exp: "moon"- /m/=m
Practice pages to use at home

10/23-10/27: Red Ribbon Week

10/26: October Award Assembly
Kinder awards at 8am in the Multipurpose Room
Parents have been notified if their child is receiving an award.

10/31: Halloween/Fall Classroom Celebration
Sign Up sheet is available outside the classroom.
DRESS UP DAY:
Students may dress up as a book character (bring book that goes with costume).
No masks or weapons.

In Our Class This Week...

Good afternoon parents and guardians,

Please help me reinforce the following hand signals and rules:

Hand Signals: (show me the number of fingers in the air)

2 fingers: restroom

Encourage your child to use the restroom before school, during recess, during lunch, during PE and after school.

3 fingers: water

Children may bring their own water bottle to keep in class, please LABEL it with their name.

4 fingers: tissue

when needed, please ask student to sit back down right away

5 fingers: question
