In Our Class This Week...

What a great first trip! Our kiddos were so excited to go to UCR. They were beyond amazed by the bell tower and how tall it was. If you were able to attend and took pictures please feel tree to upload to our Shutterfly page, or email them to me and I will upload them.

Parent Teacher Conferences are almost here! I will be using an online sign up method for choosing your time slot for our 2016 Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Disguise a Turkey Project DUE 11/17

Language Arts: Unit 2 Week 5: "A Bed for Winter"

    Letter of the week: I
    Home activities: Look for the letter I (in all kinds of fonts)
    Say words that begin with the /i/ sound
    Draw pictures that begin with the /i/ sound
    Sound middle Ii CVC words
    Pig, tip, pin, sit, him, 
    Make a list words with these endings
    -ig, -ip,-in, -it, -im

    Weekly reading comprehension test: Every Friday (Based on the comprehension skill of the week)
    This week's focus:  Sequence

    High Frequency Words (HFW-also known as Sight words : Same set of words last for two weeks. These words are meant to be read just by seeing them.
    This week's words: he, for

    Math: Unit 4 Ordering Numbers (4.5-4.8)
    Count to 10, even with missing numbers
    Count items for each number up to 10
    Minus one (one less)

    Science: Seasons
    Students will be able to state facts about the 4 seasons

    Social Studies: Unit 5 Lesson 1- "How can we show time?"
    Students will be able to determine time of day-months and day of week
    Songs:

    Writing: The Handwriting House
    Ending sounds in words
