In Our Class This Week...

What a fun week! The kids had a great time dressing up differently every day of the week. Special thanks to our guest readers on Thursday! The kiddos really enjoyed listening to some new Dr. Seuss books!
Also, new MARCH family project went home this week. Some ideas can be found below!

STAR testing will begin this week. Please remind your child to try their very best and listen to all the directions.

Language Arts: Unit 4 Week 5: "If You Could Go to Antarctica"

Letter(s) of the week: Ee
Home activities: Look for the letter Ee (in all types of fonts)
Say words that begin with the letter Ee
Draw pictures that begin with the letter Ee
Sound out and blend CVC words (determine if real or silly)
get, vet, zet, wet, det, chet, plet

Make a list words with these endings
-ed, -el, -en, -ep, -et

Weekly reading comprehension test: Every Friday (Based on the comprehension skill of the week)

High Frequency Words (HFW-also known as Sight words : Same set of words last for two weeks. These words are meant to be read just by seeing them.

Unit 10 Numbers to 20

Build numbers to 20, complete number bonds (part, part, whole), state numbers the 10's way (15 the ten way is 10 and 5 ones)

Science: Solar System
Students will be able to state facts about the planets in our solar system

Social Studies: Woman in History

Writing: The Handwriting House
Write sentences with a "WHO" and "WHAT"
Practice paper (print and use at home)
