In Our Class This Week...

I know Spring fever is in the air, but please remind your child it is important to follow all school rules. 

Classroom rules:
#1: Listen while the teacher is talking
#2: Follow directions quickly
#3: Respect others, respect yourself, respect your school
#4: Raise your hand to speak or stand
#5: Keep your hands to yourself

#6: Keep your dear teacher happy

Important Dates:
4/10-4/14: SPRING BREAK - NO SCHOOL!

4/26: Wacky Wednesday
PLEASE SAVE WATER BOTTLES (we will need one water bottle per child).
We will also need SOIL.

4/28: Awards Assembly and Family Friday Lunch

Each word is worth 5 points
c= 1 point
c-a= 2 points
c-a-t= 3 points
c-a-t...cat= 4 points (say each sound then whole word)
cat= 5 points (whole word read)
Phoneme Segmentation Fluency Test
Each sound in every word is worth 1 point
cat= /c/ /a/ /t/
chin= /ch/ /i/ /n/

Home activities: Look for the letter U (in all types of fonts)

Make a list words with these endings
-ub, -ug, -un, -up, -ut
Write CVC words with middle /a/ /e/ /i/ /o/ /u/
Weekly reading comprehension test: Every Friday (Based on the comprehension skill of the week)

High Frequency Words (HFW-also known as Sight words: Same set of words last for two weeks. These words are meant to be read just by seeing them).

Math: Unit 11 Number Bonds
Part, part, whole
Have students build numbers using objects to show the parts that make up the whole 
Math facts to 10

Science: Motion
Students will be able to use position words to tell where objects are located. 

Social Studies: April Fools Day
Students will be able to state facts about April Fools Day.

Write sentences with a "WHO",  "WHAT" and "WHERE"
Practice paper (print and use at home)
