In Our Class This Week...

With a new year upon us, some of our classroom supplies have begun to run low. Donations of the following items would be greatly appreciated!
Gently used games (Operation, Qwurikle, Connect Four, etc.)
Organic Clorox Wipes

Kindergarten Field Trip 6/13
If you would like to be a chaperone please let me know and I will place your name in the raffle. Only 5 parents from each class will be chosen. Parents will be notified on Friday, May 26th if they will be chaperoning our field trip.

Home activities: Look for the letter(s) Aa and Ii (in all types of fonts)
Say words that begin with Aa and Ii
Draw pictures that begin with Aa and Ii
Sound  out  blend CVC words (determine if real or silly)

bit, lit, mit, rip, tip, flip, slip

Weekly reading comprehension test: Every Friday (Based on the comprehension skill of the week)
Song we review in class: Parts of a Story song
This week's focus: Compare and Contrast 

HFW review: do, little, what, with

Math: Unit 13 Subtraction
Students will use math stories and pictures to find the difference. 
Key Words: subtraction sign, take away, equal sign, how many are left

Science: Dinosaurs
Students will be able to state facts about dinosaurs

Social Studies: Unit 4 Lesson 5: What happens at school?
Students will be able to describe what happens at school. 

Writing: The Handwriting House
Write sentences with a "WHO",  "WHAT", "WHERE", "WHEN" and "WHY"
Exp: The dog ran into the house at noon because he was hot.
who: dog     what: ran    where: house    when: noon   why:hot
Practice paper (print and use at home)
