First week is done, we did it...yaaaay! I am so proud of my kiddos and how far they have come. First week is always important when it comes to setting the expectation for your classroom because it will set the tone for the rest of the school year. We practiced the rules (on a daily basis), we practiced classroom procedures all day long (how to sit at our table/carpet spot, how to put away items, how to use our white board markers, and many other routines) and of course we got to learn about each other. Please reinforce the following hand signals and rules:
Hand Signals: (show me the number of fingers in the air)
2 fingers: restroom
Encourage your child to use the restroom before school, during recess, during lunch, during PE and after school.
3 fingers: water
Children may bring their own water bottle to keep in class, please LABEL it with their name
4 fingers: tissue
when needed, please ask student to sit back down right away
5 fingers: question
