In Our Class This Week...

I will be out Thursday and Friday for a Kindergarten Professional Development Conference. Please remind yo child to be on their best behavior for the substitute.

    Weekly reading comprehension test: Every Friday (Based on the comprehension skill of the week)

    High Frequency Words (HFW): Same set of words last for two weeks. These words are meant to be read just by seeing them.

    Math: Unit 4 Ordering Numbers 
    Count to 10, even with missing numbers
    Count items for each number up to 10
    Minus one (one less)

    Begin Unit 5: Shapes
    Identify similar solid shapes

    Yay, we won the Attendance Award AGAIN; thank you for bringing your child to school everyday on time! With our awesome win, the students will continue to have free dress on Fridays in the month of December!

        Our first CVC reading test was Friday, scores tests were returned same day
        How the test was scored:
        5 points- read word without sounding it out-"Pat"
        4 points- sound out word and say word -"p/a/t-pat"
        3 points- sound out word and say incorrect word or no word at all-"p/a/t"
        2 points- only says two sounds in the word
        1 point- only says one sound in the word

        Letter C song- ABC mouse
        Home activities: Look for the letter C (in all kinds of fonts)

        Norco Navy Open House STEM Expo

        Norco Navy to Host Open House STEM Experience

        Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona, located in Norco, is hosting an Open House Science Experience with hands-on exhibits of Navy-relevant science, technology, engineering and math for local K-12 students. In addition, community exhibitors and education partners will present other STEM activities to help build the next generation of Navy scientists and engineers.

        The Open House will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

        NSWC Corona will also provide tours of its labs and provide historic displays to show the command's mission and legacy for our nation.

        Please note the following:

        For this event, all visitors will enter the base at:
        2300 Fifth Street
        Norco, CA 92860


        The Fourth Street gate will be closed.

        All drivers must have valid driver's license, current vehicle registration, and insurance.   Vehicle spot checks will be conducted.

        Important Notice: Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs) including cameras or smart phones with built in cameras, recording devices both audio and video, computers, laptops, handheld MP3 players like iPods are not allowed. Please be prepared to leave these items in your car.
