Language Arts: Unit 5 Week 2: Mayday! Mayday!
Letter(s) of the week: X
Letter X - Have Fun Teaching
Letter X - ABCMouse
Letter X - Storybots
Home activities: Look for the letter X (in all types of fonts)
Say words that begin with the letter X
Draw pictures that begin with the letter X
Sound out/blend CVC words (determine if real or silly)
fox, box, xab, xun, xop, fix, wax

Make a list words with these endings
-ax, -ex, -ix, -ox, -ux
Write CVC words with middle /a/ /e/ /i/ /o/ /u/


Weekly reading comprehension test: Every Friday (Based on the comprehension skill of the week)
This week's focus: Cause and Effect

High Frequency Words (HFW-also known as Sight words: Same set of words last for two weeks. These words are meant to be read just by seeing them).

TEST ON TUESDAY

Teen numbers
Make groups of tens and say the number the "tens" way
Have students build numbers to 20 and set aside a group of ten

Begin Unit 11 Number Bonds

Students will be able to state facts about Cesar Chavez.

Writing: The Handwriting House
Write sentences with a "WHO",  "WHAT" and "WHERE"

Good morning! I just wanted to thank everyone for their donations this past week with Wacky Wednesday and St. Patricks Day. I really appreciate your help as do the students!

    In Our Class This Week...

    What a fun week! The kids had a great time dressing up differently every day of the week. Special thanks to our guest readers on Thursday! The kiddos really enjoyed listening to some new Dr. Seuss books!
    Also, new MARCH family project went home this week. Some ideas can be found below!

    STAR testing will begin this week. Please remind your child to try their very best and listen to all the directions.
