In Our Class This Week....

We are getting closer to the end of the school year, but before that happens we have a lot more learning to do to get our kiddos ready for first grade!

Here is some important news from the PTO and dates to keep in mind:

4/6: Open enrollment ends
4/15: Coffee with director @ 8:30
4/17: Family Lunch Friday resumes (K lunch at 11:00)
4/21: Emergency Drill
School lottery @ Chamber of commerce @ 5:30
4/30: Awards assembly for month of April

Future Dates:
5/5: Cinco de Mayo (more information will be available soon)
5/8: Muffins for moms
5/21: Spring performance 
6/17: STEAM Expo
6/19: Donuts for dads


NEW HOMEWORK:
The kindergarten team is doing their part to help save paper. As you may have seen, our homework packets have changed. Math has stayed the same (2 practice pages) but Language Arts has been scaled down to fit on one page and students are required to attach their proof of work to receive full credit. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me or stop by the classroom.

Chapter 15: Length and Height
Students will be able to compare lengths
Students will be able to use nonstandard units to measure and compare lengths
Students will be able to understand tallest and shortest in terms of height
Test Thursday-Key vocabulary: long, short, longer, shorter, longest, shortest

Science:
Weather Observations

Social Studies/Leadership:
Social studies: Is it land or water?
Leadership: Service

Also, please be sure to check online grades. Parents were given access to our grade books at the beginning of the school year. This is a great way to see how your child is doing in class. If you need your access information please see Sarah in the office.
