In Our Class This Week...

Teacher Appreciation week was AMAZING! I felt so loved and blessed by all of you. Thank you for all that you did, and always do. I loved all of my notes, poems, drawings and gifts. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! Also, thank you to our wonderful parents for the Cinco de mayo party! 

We are running low on the following items, donations would be greatly appreciated:

5/11: PTO meeting @ 3:30pm
5/13: Coffee with Director at 8am
5/21: Spring Performance @ 5:30pm
5/25: NO SCHOOL  in observance of Memorial Day
5/27: Wacky Wednesday
5/28: May Awards Assembly Tk/K @ 8am
6/10: Last day to submit 100 mile club miles for credit
6/17: STEAM Expo
6/18: End of the Year Awards Assembly Tk/K @ 8am
6/19: Donuts for dads

MobyMax
Continue to use Mobymax at home whenever your child gets a chance. Every child's learning is individualized! This is a great, fun program for the kids to use to reinforce math and language arts skills.

Here is a look into our new week

Language Arts:
Story: Unit 5-Week 6 "This Is the Way We Go to School"



Unit 5 Assessment (FRIDAY): 
HFW covered - yellow, blue, green, what, said, was, where, come

Writing:
Narrative Writing 

Math:
Finish Chapter 19: Measurement
Students will be able to compare weights using nonstandard units
Students will be able to compare containers according to capacity
Students will be able to compare events according to duration

Begin Chapter 20: Money
Students will be able to recognize penny, nickel, dime and quarter

Science:
Start our Ocean unit for our STEAM Expo
Students will be learning about the different animals, the layers of the ocean, and more!

Donations needed (as of right now):
empty egg cartons
empty water bottles
sand
shells
blue and green streamers
google eyes

Social Studies/Leadership:
Unit 4 Lesson 5- What happens at school?

Leadership: Responsibility-responsible for self and well being

Also, please be sure to check online grades. Parents were given access to our grade books at the beginning of the school year. This is a great way to see how your child is doing in class. If you need your access information please see Sarah in the office.
