In Our Class This Week...

Good afternoon parents and guardians, 

Be sure to check out our Shutterfly page for our latest classroom pictures. If you would like access, please email me for a special invite. Soon all parents/guardians will be given access to teachers grade books. I try to update my grades right away after the students take a test.


I will be at a teacher training Thursday and Friday of this week. Please remind your child the importance of respecting the substitute teacher and following all directions. I expect the best behavior from all my students while I am out of the classroom. 

We are in need of the following for our classroom:
Play-doh

 Please help me reinforce the following hand signals and rules: 
Hand Signals: (show me the number of fingers in the air)
2 fingers: restroom
Encourage your child to use the restroom before school, during recess, during lunch, during PE and after school.
3 fingers: water
Children may bring their own water bottle to keep in class, please LABEL it with their name.
4 fingers: tissue
when needed, please ask student to sit back down right away
5 fingers: question

High Frequency Words (HFW, also known as Sight words): Same set of words last for two weeks. These words are meant to be read just by "seeing" them.

Math: Unit 1 Matching and Sorting (lessons 1.6 - 1.9 and review)
Students will be able to show same and different
categories: color, shape, size, pattern
Students will take their Math Test the following Monday 9/25

Science: Farm Animals Parent and Child
Students will be able to name and match parent and child animals on a farm
